Pike angling & coarse fishing
Access some of Ireland’s best pike and coarse fishing right from the Blueway. Cast from the banks or rent a rowboat locally for a peaceful day on the water.
Wild swimming from the jetty
Start or end your day with a quiet dip from the jetty. Calm stretches of the Blueway make for gentle, refreshing swimming close to your accommodation.
Paddle boards, kayaks & row boats
Bring your own paddle board or kayak and explore the calm stretches of the Blueway. Rowboats (with or without engine) can also be rented locally for a slow, unhurried day on the river. (book in advance)
Riverside walks & bike rides
Follow the river, wander quiet lanes or explore small countryside loops. Bikes are included, letting you roam further without using the car. (BYO bike helmet)
Sunset views & stargazing
Watch the sky shift over the river at dusk, then step into clear, quiet night skies. The perfect slow end to the day.
Birdwatching on the river
Spot herons, kingfishers, swans, wagtails and seasonal visitors. Quiet mornings are ideal for watching wildlife from your own private deck and you might just hear our local cuckoo
